The Lactation Spaces for Veteran Moms Act would require the Department of Veterans Affairs medical centers to provide lactation spaces that are available to women veterans as well as members of the public.
VA medical centers serve multigenerational families, caregivers, and a diverse workforce. By ensuring access to lactation spaces for all who enter the facility, the bill strengthens the care environment for young families supporting veterans, adult children assisting aging parents, and the civilian employees who keep the VA system running. The bill has already passed out of the Senate and moved to the House. Your voice can help move this bill forward. Urge your Representative to support swift passage of the Lactation Spaces for Veteran Moms Act. |

The United States is one of the only countries without a national paid family and medical leave program. As a result, nearly 1 in 4 mothers return to work just two weeks after giving birth. Research shows that access to paid leave significantly increases breastfeeding initiation and duration, but only a small portion of workers in the United States have access to paid leave.
Congress has a chance right now to create a comprehensive and inclusive national paid family and medical leave program by passing the Family and Medical Insurance Leave (FAMILY) Act. Let's raise our voices together to educate Congress on how a national paid leave program can support breastfeeding, improve health outcomes, and make a difference for American families. |

The U.S. Breastfeeding Committee is mobilizing to increase investments that support babies and families by urging Congress to direct $20M to the Centers for Disease Control & Prevention (CDC) Hospitals Promoting Breastfeeding program in the Fiscal Year (FY) 2026 Labor, Health and Human Services, and Related Agencies appropriations bill. This funding will help build and strengthen critical programs that support states, territories, tribal nations, local governments, hospitals, and communities in advancing breastfeeding continuity of care; as well as increase access to breastfeeding-friendly environments within hospitals, workplaces, and community spaces.
Sign the joint letter to let Congress know that breastfeeding should be fully funded! Please note: this sign-on form is for organizations only. Take action today! Send a message directly to your Senators and Representatives and let your voice be heard! |
