Important notice about the NBCC 2020: Updated March 10, 2020.
The USBC staff team and Board of Directors, in partnership with our funders, have made the difficult but necessary decision to cancel the Tenth National Breastfeeding Conference & Convening (NBCC), as a result of the rapidly changing public health situation created by coronavirus disease (COVID-19). This decision has been made in the interest of protecting public health and out of uncertainty about the disease trajectory.
The USBC will host the conference at the same location in Scottsdale, Arizona, next year, June 11-12, 2021. Please save the date.
In lieu of the in-person gathering, our team is assessing possibilities for a virtual gathering utilizing the dynamic proposals that were submitted for this year's NBCC. Thank you to all who took the time to carefully submit proposals and awards applications—your efforts are deeply appreciated. Additional communications to those who submitted proposals will be forthcoming. Please stay tuned for information about upcoming presentations.
Refer to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention webpage “Get Your Mass Gatherings or Large Community Events Ready for Coronavirus Disease 2019” webpage for additional information.
Full refunds to registrants and vendors will be processed by Monday, March 16. People who reserved their rooms at the hotel received cancellation notices and their refunds are in process. Please reach out to firstname.lastname@example.org with any questions.
Additional note to USBC members: The USBC Membership Meeting scheduled for Thursday, June 11, will now be conducted as a virtual event, similar to the January Membership Meeting. We will send registration instructions in the coming weeks. Please reach out to email@example.com with any questions.
Thank you for your understanding and for your enthusiasm for the conference, and also for your patience with us during this time as we endeavor to make this shift as smooth as possible. We very much look forward to seeing you in person in 2021!
