Guidelines for the Care of Late Preterm Infants, from NPA

In response to increasing awareness of the very real risks for late preterm infants, the National Perinatal Association has worked with many partners across the spectrum of care to create Multidisciplinary Guidelines for the Care of Late Preterm Infants. The guidelines give health care providers and others a roadmap that focuses attention on the unique needs of late preterm infants, from birth through early childhood, helping to ensure potential health risks aren't overlooked.

 

Role of Public Health Nutrition in Obesity Prevention, from ASTPHND

The Association of State and Territorial Public Health Nutrition Directors Obesity Prevention Nutrition Council Steering Committee has released a two-page primer titled The Role of Public Health Nutrition in Obesity Prevention. Aimed at public health professionals and others working in obesity prevention, the primer describes the skills and types of activities accomplished by public health nutritionists.

A new Dialogue4Health webinar, "Workplace Wellness:  A Discussion of New Findings and Efforts to Advance Healthier Communities" is scheduled for Thursday, December 6, 2:30 - 4:00 p.m. (EST). The webinar will include the sharing of "innovative strategies and tried and true approaches to solving community health challenges through workplace wellness - including key partnerships in place to advance these efforts and how to support small businesses."

The Washington County WIC Program in Oregon released a multimedia toolkit resource for foster caregivers providing mother's milk to infants in their care. The toolkit is available for free download at the Ayle Birth website. Enter portal password "Caregiver."
