The Division of Health Examination Statistics collects data on the
health and nutrition status of the United States via the National Health
and Nutrition Examination Survey. This data is used by policymakers and
public health researchers.
Current breastfeeding-related activities
- Questions related to breastfeeding are asked of women aged 12 years
and older as part of their reproductive health history. The questions
may be reviewed at http://www.cdc.gov/nchs/data/nhanes/crhq.pdf
- Questions related to breastfeeding are asked of the parents of
children aged 6 years and younger as part of the diet and health
behavior questions asked of young children. The questions may be
reviewed at http://www.cdc.gov/nchs/data/nhanes/spq-db.pdf.
Past NHANES data also included information on breastfeeding and is
