The Office of Planning, Evaluation, and Legislation within the CDC
National Center for Environmental Health has as its mission:
"To provide strategic, creative leadership and coordination in
policy analysis, planning, program development, evaluation, partnership
development and legislative activities at CDC to reduce disease, death
and disability that result from interaction between people and their
environment."
This Office handles breastfeeding questions related to the effects of
environmental substances and contaminants on the quality and safety of
breast milk.
