Wellstart International is a private, nonprofit organization dedicated
to supporting the health and nutrition of both mothers and infants
worldwide by promoting breastfeeding. Wellstart focuses on the developing
local leadership and expertise by providing education and technical
assistance to perinatal health care providers and educators around the
world, in order to prepare these professionals to better promote maternal
and infant health in their own settings.
Wellstart faculty and staff offer in-depth clinical and programmatic
expertise, and both domestic and international experience to hospitals,
clinics, university schools of medicine, nursing and nutrition, and a wide
variety of governmental and non-governmental health and population
agencies. Wellstart maintains an extensive publications list, including
the field-tested and widely used Lactation Management Curriculum Guide.
Many of the free or low-cost publications are available in several
languages.
