The Washington Business
Group on Health (WBGH), established in 1974, is a nonprofit 501(C)(3) organization
that works to stimulate and foster corporate leadership and partnership in promoting performance-driven health care
systems. In partnership with the Maternal and Child Health Bureau, Department of Health and Human Services,
the Washington Business Group on Health has implemented a number of
innovative programs to foster communication and collaboration between the
traditional maternal and child health community and corporate America.
The Family Health
Section of the WBGH produces the publication Family Health in Brief that
regularly features best practices to promote health and productivity. In
March, 2000 (Issue No. 2) the Brief featured "Breastfeeding Support
at the Workplace," providing valuable background information for
employers on the issue of breastfeeding as well as provide ideas for
consideration when implementing a comprehensive lactation program at the
workplace.
