Oregon's Breastfeeding Mother-Friendly Workplace Policy

The Oregon Health Division desires to set an example for employers in its breastfeeding promotion and support for working families.  By developing and implementing a workplace breastfeeding promotion policy, the health division actively promotes breastfeeding as a normal part of daily life and permits a nursing woman to breastfeed her baby in any location of the Oregon Health Division where the mother is otherwise authorized to be.  The policy provides for a lactation room, provisions for breastmilk storage, flexible scheduling, and access to breastfeeding information.

The policy and procedures statement may be read in its entirety by visiting http://www.ohd.hr.state.or.us/bf/policy.htm.
