Recording of June 1 Networking Call for Breastfeeding Coalitions
Letter of Intent info:
- Letter of Intent Sample (Be sure to fill in the blanks, put on coalition letterhead, and have it signed by the Chair, President, or other authorized individual).
- You need to attach a completed LOI Strategic Directions and Strategies Checklist (Appendix G in the FOA). This document provides information on which strategy or strategies the applicant anticipates addressing in their CTG application (see "helpful notes" below). This information is not binding--any change will not be held against the applicant.
- LOIs must be mailed (no e-mail submission allowed) and must be received no later than June 6, 2011. This means that you'll need to send by overnight delivery no later than Friday, June 3.

Helpful notes for breastfeeding coalitions:
The Strategies related to breastfeeding fall under Strategic Direction 2: Active Living and Healthy Eating:
- Increase policies and practices to support breastfeeding in health care, community, workplaces, and learning and childcare settings.
- Increase the number of designated Baby-friendly hospitals.

How will I be able to tell if other agencies in my area are planning to apply?
It is not possible to know if specific agencies or states are planning to apply for CTG funds until all Letters of Intent are received at CDC. Applicants are encouraged to collaborate and coordinate with other potential applicants within the areas to be served. This can be facilitated by indicating permission for CDC to share your intention to apply in the Letter of Intent due June 6, 2011.
